Quick answer
If you want a practical desk upgrade that protects your surface and adds a cute touch, go with the Pusheen Desk Mat. If you're after a playful, musical gadget that sparks creativity, the Pusheen Deluxe Otamatone is your pick.
Different purposes for your desk
The Pusheen Desk Mat and the Pusheen Deluxe Otamatone serve very different roles on your desk. The desk mat is a functional accessory designed to keep your workspace tidy and protected, while the Otamatone is an electronic musical instrument that brings sound and interaction to your setup. Your choice depends on whether you prioritize practicality or playful expression.
Both items add Pusheen personality to your desk, but they compete for space and attention. The desk mat stays flat and unobtrusive, while the Otamatone requires room for handling and playing.
Trade-offs to consider
- Desk protection vs. musical fun: The desk mat protects your desk and keeps it tidy, while the Otamatone provides interactive entertainment. You can't use both in the same way at the same time.
- Space and noise: The desk mat takes up surface area but is silent. The Otamatone requires handling space and produces sound, which may not suit shared or quiet workspaces.
- Budget consideration: The desk mat is priced at USD 11.84 (down from USD 16.00), while the Otamatone is USD 60.99 (down from USD 99.99). The mat is a low-cost upgrade; the Otamatone is a bigger investment for a specialty item. If budget is tight, the desk mat gives you more practical value per dollar.
